It’s also rumoured in the two week gap the wombats will be recording new material!

The Wombats performed at the Ibiza ‘Fuck Dance Let’s Rock’ Festival, here’s a little extract from it all. Oh and some pictures! No wonder Sir Paul McCartney wants to work with The Wombats. The furry fellas played a belting set at Ibiza Rocks with Sony Ericsson in San Rafael’s Hippodrome last night.

The Wombats whizzed into Ibiza this week for a slot on the island’s hottest stage and - despite being sunburnt to a crisp within hours of arriving - Liverpool’s current punk pop sensations did not disappoint.

Straight from the off, the crowd were drenched in a syrupy solution of sunshine, super charged sounds and stratosphere-scraping vibes and transformed into a bobbing sea of blissed out smiling faces.

‘Moving To New York’, ‘Kill The Director’ and ‘Let’s Dance to Joy Division’ all prompted glorious mass singalongs, set to be one of the all time highlights of the sunkissed Ibizian summer of 2008.

Backfire at the disco? Not a bit of it. We’ll still be bathing in the Wombats warm glow when winter hits…

Interesting as I’m sure you will agree, I’d definately like to go and check out the new scene in ibiza with acts like the wombats playing!

We will be back soon, but for time being the wombats are enjoying a small break in their tour dates over the summer. I’m pretty sure that we will be hearing some news aboutn how things are going across the pond for the boys soonish.

On June 24th, The Wombats will see the official US release of their debut album, A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation.  Stuffed to the brim with high-energy anthems like “Let’s Dance To Joy Division,” “Moving To New York” and “Backfire At The Disco,” this record is ready to take America by storm.

God bless them, hope they come back in one piece.

Here’s the only few pics I have of the night… I’m sure a few more will come around soon and I will post the videos of the songs as soon as I get them. The end of the UK tour went down with a bang at the apollo, as i’m sure many would agree it was an absolute intense party!

The Warum Act that everyone loved was called ‘Team Waterpolo’ check out their stuff on myspace … http://www.myspace.com/teamwaterpolo

The other act were crap, and as a result i’m not posting it. ^^
